May Schedule

ASNT UT (Ultrasonic Testing) Level II Training Program (Part Time)

ASNT UT (Ultrasonic Testing) Level II course is from 28 May 2012 to 29 Jun 2012. This course covers the use of ultrasonic transmission of high-frequency sound waves into a material to detect any imperfections or locate any changes in material properties. The most commonly used ultrasonic testing technique is pulse echo, wherein sound is introduced into a test object and reflections (echoes) are returned to a receiver from internal imperfections or from the part's geometrical surfaces.

June schedule

BGAS Painting Course

Full Time:01 Jun 2012 to 05 Jun 2012

Corrosion theory; surface preparation; surface contaminants and tests; paint constituents and technology; solutions and dispersions; drying and curing properties and performance; specified painting conditions; cathodic protection; holiday/pinhole detection; paint-application methods; paint/paint film testing; paint identification; metal coatings; paint faults; colour; inspection methods; specification requirements; health and safety and working practices.

ASNT PT (Liquid Penetarnt Testing) Level II Training Program

Part Time: 18 Jun 2012 to 27 Jun 2012
Full Time: 25 Jun 2012 to 27 Jun 2012

In the Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT) Test objects are coated with visible or fluorescent dye solution. Excess dye is then removed from the surface, and a developer is applied. The developer acts as blotter, drawing trapped penetrant out of imperfections open to the surface. With visible dyes, vivid color contrasts between the penetrant and developer make "bleedout" easy to see. With fluorescent dyes, ultraviolet light is used to make the bleedout fluoresce brightly, thus allowing imperfections to be readily seen.

ASNT MT (Magnetic Particle Testing) Level II Training Program

Full Time: 28 Jun 2012 to 30 Jun 2012

The Magnetic Particle NDE method is accomplished by inducing a magnetic field in a ferromagnetic material and then dusting the surface with iron particles (either dry or suspended in liquid). Surface and near-surface imperfections distort the magnetic field and concentrate iron particles near imperfections, previewing a visual indication of the flaw.

PCN RI Level II

Full Time: 18 Jun 2012 to 22 Jun 2012

Radiography NDT method involves the use of penetrating gamma or X-radiation to examine parts and products for imperfections. An X-ray generator or radioactive isotope is used as a source of radiation. Radiation is directed through a part and onto film or other imaging media. The resulting shadowgraph shows the dimensional features of the part. Possible imperfections are indicated as density changes on the film in the same manner as a medical X-ray shows broken bones.

CSWIP 3.1 Level II (Welding Inspector)

Full Time: 18 Jun 2012 to 22 Jun 2012

Welding procedures: Establishing that a procedure is available, has been approved as required by the appropriate authority and is being employed in production. Witnessing of welder and procedure approval tests: Witnessing the preparation of test pieces and destructive tests, and verifying compliance with appropriate standards and specifications. Welder approvals: Verification that adequate and valid welder approvals are available, and that only approved welders as required are used in production. Post weld heat treatment :Verification that post weld heat treatment has been conducted in accordance with specification requirements. Reports: Preparation of inspection reports.

CSWIP 3.2 Level III (Senior Welding Inspector)

Full Time: 25 Jun 2012 to 29 Jun 2012

Certification of compliance: Final acceptance and certification that the requirements of the specification have been met. Weld drawings: Interpretation of weld drawings and weld symbols. Records: Maintenance of comprehensive inspection records. Weld defects: Appreciation of the factors influencing the formation of weld defects and their acceptability in relation to the written specification. NDT results: Verification of NDT reports on welding work for which the Senior Welding Inspector is responsible. This may include radiographic interpretation. Quality assurance: Ensuring that quality assurance standards and procedures are maintained.

July schedule

AWS to CSWIP Bridging

Full Time: 02 Jul 2012 to 04 Jul 2012
